Who collects the dues, and paying your federation online
Each chapter collects on its own Stripe account, on its federation's, or a mix, and a chapter can pay its federation what it owes online. Nothing changes until the federation offers it and the chapter accepts.
Available to every federation on renuzy. Nothing changes for anyone until they choose. A federation switches on what it offers on its own Money page, and a chapter collects on its federation's account only after its owner or treasurer accepts. Until then every club collects on its own Stripe account as it always has.
Who collects members' dues
Each chapter chooses. A chapter can collect on its own Stripe account, which is how every club starts, or on its federation's Stripe account. A federation can have some chapters of each, which is a mix. It never changes the price, and renuzy takes nothing from dues. Stripe's own fee comes off each payment, from whichever account takes it.
- The federation switches on Offer to collect members' dues for chapters on its Money page. Its own Stripe account has to be connected first.
- On a chapter's page, the federation presses Offer to collect its dues. Nothing changes yet.
- The chapter's owner or treasurer reads exactly what they would agree to on Your federations, ticks the box and presses Accept, or declines. The words are kept, on both sides, with who agreed and when.
- From the next payment, a member who pays online pays the federation's account. The payment names the chapter, renuzy files it to the member in the chapter's records as usual, and the receipt says the federation took the money for the chapter.
While the federation collects, members pay one payment at a time: no parts, no automatic renewal and no gift on top. Parts and automatic renewals members set up earlier keep using the chapter's own account. A refund of a payment the federation took comes from the federation's account; the federation presses Refund on its Money page, or makes it in its Stripe dashboard, and the chapter's records show it when Stripe confirms it.
Either side can end it at any time, and a chapter that leaves the federation ends it too. The chapter goes back to its own account from the next payment, and nothing already paid moves. What the federation passes back to a chapter, and when, is between the two of them; renuzy does not move money.
The federation's Money page splits the members' dues its account took by chapter, with refunds, and downloads as a spreadsheet. It shows no member names.
Paying your federation online
- The federation switches on Let chapters pay what they owe us online on its Money page.
- Your club sends its count on Your federations, as before.
- Under the count, Pay online shows what is owed, what has reached the federation and what is left. It shows on Federation dues too. Pay all of it or part of it. renuzy refuses more than is owed.
- You pay by card, or by US bank debit where the federation's account takes it, on Stripe's own page. The money goes to the federation's Stripe account.
renuzy marks it paid only when Stripe confirms it, never because the page came back. A bank payment shows as on its way until it clears, usually in a few working days, and if it fails nothing is counted and both sides are told. Both sides get a receipt by email that says who paid, when, and how much is left. A year cannot be paid twice: while one payment is on its way another waits, and once the year is paid in full there is nothing to pay.
The federation can refund what a chapter paid online from its Money page or the chapter's page. Exactly that amount comes off what it has received for the year. Paying by check still works: the federation records it by hand, beside anything paid online.
