Your chart of accounts in renuzy
Tell renuzy the name of the account in your books for each kind of money. Type the names exactly as your books spell them.
Your books have a list of accounts, called the chart of accounts. renuzy needs to know which one each kind of money goes to. It starts you on the names most club books use:
- Dues go to Dues Income.
- Gifts go to Donations.
- Tickets go to Event Income.
- Stripe's fees go to Bank Fees.
- Money that has come in but is not in the bank yet sits in Undeposited Funds.
- Payouts and deposits go to Checking, your bank account.
To change one, type the name exactly as it appears in your books and press Save the accounts. Capital letters and spaces matter.
You can be more detailed if your books are. Under Dues there is a line for each membership option; under Gifts, a line for each fund; under Tickets, a line for each event. Leave a line empty and it uses the heading's account.
Refunds: leave this empty and a refund comes off the account the money came in on, which is what most treasurers want. Type an account only if your books keep refunds separately.
Codes: Xero finds accounts by their code, such as 200. If you use Xero, copy each code from Xero's chart of accounts (Accounting, then Chart of accounts). QuickBooks does not need codes.
Every change is recorded with who made it. Board members who can only look cannot change these.
