Importing into QuickBooks Desktop
Back up your company file, then File, Utilities, Import, IIF Files. renuzy adds any missing account with the right type.
- In renuzy, go to Accounting, choose the month, and download QuickBooks Desktop: IIF journal file. It saves as a file ending in .iif.
- In QuickBooks Desktop, make a backup first: File, Back Up Company, Create Local Backup. An import cannot be undone in one step, so the backup is your way back.
- Go to File, Utilities, Import, IIF Files.
- Choose the file and click Open. If QuickBooks offers a choice, pick the plain import.
- QuickBooks says when it has finished. Each day with money is one general journal entry, numbered like RZ-20261003.
- Check one: go to Reports, Accountant and Taxes, Journal, and look at a day you know.
Any account in renuzy that your company file does not have yet is added, as income, expense, bank, or other current asset. If you would rather use an account you already have, change the name in renuzy to match it exactly before you download.
Import each month once. Importing the same file twice enters it twice.
