Importing your member list
To bring your whole list in, go to Members, press Import and choose your spreadsheet. Nothing is saved until you have seen a preview.
- In your old system, download your list as a spreadsheet. Excel, Google Sheets and CSV files all work, and so does a list you keep yourself.
- Go to Members and press Import.
- Choose your file under Your file, paste a Google Sheets link, or paste the rows into the box.
- Press Check the file. renuzy works out which column is which.
- Read the preview: who will come in, who looks listed twice, and anything missing.
- Press the button that says how many people will be imported.
Your members are on the list. Nothing is emailed to them during an import. Then open Data check to see what is still missing.
If something goes wrong
A column was matched to the wrong thing
On the preview, press Change how columns are matched and pick the right one for each column.
Some people came in without an email or a last name
They still come in. Data check lists them, and you can fix them one at a time or all at once with a file.
The Google Sheets link does not work
In Google Sheets press Share and set General access to Anyone with the link. No Google sign in is needed.
I imported the wrong file
Under Imports you have made, press Take this import back. You have 30 days. Anyone you have worked on since stays, and renuzy tells you who.
Good to know
- Exports from WildApricot, Join It, Mailchimp, ClubExpress and MembershipWorks are recognised.
- If your spreadsheet has several tabs, renuzy uses the one with the email addresses.
- Rather not do it yourself? Send the file to us from the same page and a person moves your list for free. You check it before anything is saved.
- Owners, treasurers and membership volunteers can import.
Questions people ask
Will members get an email when I import them?
No. Nothing is sent during an import.
Can I import paid through dates?
Yes. A column such as Paid Through or Expires becomes their renewal date.
What about a paper list?
Send us a photo or a PDF from the import page. A person types it up and you review it before it is saved.
