Extra giving

Members can add a gift when they pay their dues, or give on its own. Each gift gets a receipt, and each donor a statement in January.

Switch giving on in Giving. The top of the page shows what was given this year after refunds, and how many gifts and donors. Under it are a ring of this year's gifts by fund and a bar for each month. Then:

  • The join and renewal pages offer a gift on top of dues, with your suggested amounts. It is a second line on the same card payment, paid straight to your club's Stripe account.
  • Your give page lets anyone give, member or not. Put its link on your website or newsletter. Members also get a Give button on their payments page.
  • A check or cash gift can be recorded by hand, with a receipt emailed at once.

Gifts are kept apart from dues everywhere: they never change anyone's membership, they are not added to dues on reports, and they have their own spreadsheet. The board report shows them under Giving.

A refund of a gift paid by card goes through Stripe. If a payment carried both dues and a gift and part of it is refunded, the refund comes off the gift first, so the membership stays paid.

renuzy takes no fee on gifts. Stripe's own card fee applies as it does to dues.
