Volunteer shifts and hours
Add shifts, let members sign up, remind them the day before, and log hours when you say who came.
- Go to Volunteers and add a shift: what needs doing, the day and time, and how many people. Put it on an event or on its own, like Garden workday, Saturday 9 to 12, 6 people.
- Members sign up from their page under Events. Press Email members an invite to send each member their own I can help button.
- renuzy reminds each volunteer the day before, and again on the day with an I'm here button, once each, in your club's sending hours. Turn either off under Reminders. A shift that starts before 9:30am gets only the day before reminder, because emails begin at 9am.
- On the day, volunteers tap I'm here in that email, on their page, or by scanning the check in poster you print for the door.
- After the shift, Who came? is ticked for the people who checked in, with the time they arrived, and the rest are shown as not checked in. Change anything, then log their hours. Nothing counts until you do.
Members can also log other hours themselves. Those wait under Hours waiting for you until an officer approves them. You can log hours for someone too.
Each member's record and their own page show their hours this year. The Volunteer report in the report library shows hours by member, by month and by role, with files to download.
Each coming shift shows a ring of how many signed up against the places, and who they are. Who came? has a big tick box for each person. The volunteer report charts hours by month, ranks members by hours, and shows hours by role.
